bbqsce1Tangy BBQ Sauce – This very unique, zippy, BBQ sauce recipe is not only bursting with a huge amount of flavor, it saturates the meat you are cooking, with it’s tangy, tasty flavor. As “easy as pie”, this quick cooking sauce recipe, is simmered stove top, in omly 20 minutes!

Ingredients to make Tangy BBQ Sauce

TANGY BARBECUE SAUCE:
1 1/2 tb Peanut oil
1 tb Orange zest
2 tb Finely chopped shallots
2 tb Chinese chilibean sauce OR 2 tb Finely chopped scallions
2 ts Satay paste
1 tb Finely chopped garlic
2 ts Tomato paste
1 tb Finely chopped fresh ginger
1 ts Chinese white rice vinegar
2 tb Fine chopped fresh cilantro – or cider vinegar
3 tb Finely chopped fresh chiles
1/2 c Orange juice
2 tb Rice wine or dry sherry
1 1/2 tb Light soy sauce
3 tb Hoisin sauce
1 1/2 tb Dark soy sauce
2 tb Sugar
1 ts Salt
2 ts Chinese sesame oil
1 ts Freshly ground
black pepper

Directions to make Tangy BBQ Sauce

Step 1:Heat a wok or large frying pan and add the oil. Quickly add the shallots, scallions, ginger and garlic. Stir-fry for 20 seconds and add the rest of the sauce ingredients. Reduce the heat and simmer the sauce gently for 15 minutes. Allow the sauce to cool. (These steps can be done hours ahead or even the night before.)
